Full-body real-time motion capture
Robustness is key: ensure that the loss of any single channel, does not significantly degrade the experience. For example, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour (2023–24) used PixMob wristbands with coloured LEDs controlled via infrared, turning the audience into a low-resolution visual display. If that infrared signal is blocked or disrupted (be it due to an audience member standing behind a tall person), the effect may be weakened for some audience members. It is also important the technologies remain reliable under long term, repeated usage.
With multiple audience members, priority becomes a consideration. Does the first gesture win, or are gestures aggregated across audience members? Is there a central location where someone can override inputs?
Physiological data
Data needs to be ephemeral and not stored, unless visitors have given explicit permission for research or marketing use. Treat physiological data (e.g., heart rate) as sensitive and obtain explicit, informed consent; also provide opt-out and deletion routes.
