Technical challenges

Consumer grade trackers remain vulnerable to occlusion and can drift by approximately ±2 cm. Adding Inertial Measurement Units (small sensor packages containing accelerometers, gyroscopes, etc.) or using inside-out tracking (outward facing cameras on VR headsets) can reduce the errors, but these can increase system complexity¹³⁴.
